Next-Generation IAM:

Scalable Identity Solutions from the Swiss Cloud

Project Overview

Technological evolution through replatforming to AWS Kubernetes for the international market

ITSENSE is a Swiss specialist for Identity and Access Management (IAM) based in Aarau. With its CoreOne Suite, the company offers a modular IDaaS solution supporting Customer IAM, Enterprise IAM, and E-Government scenarios. To fulfill its mission of providing "simple, efficient, and scalable IAM solutions for the international market," ITSENSE partnered with copebit and AWS to realize a comprehensive technological transformation.

The core of the project was a full replatforming: the previous architecture was transformed into independent microservices and migrated to the AWS Zurich region. The new platform runs on Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) and utilizes cutting-edge cloud services such as OpenSearch for analytics, ElastiCache for high-performance caching, and Amazon MQ for reliable messaging. A particular focus was placed on multi-tenant capability, allowing multiple independent organizations to operate in parallel on a common instance or providing exclusive instances for highly regulated use cases.

The entire infrastructure is controlled via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu), while deployment is fully automated according to GitOps principles with Flux. By integrating AWS security services such as GuardDuty, WAF, Shield, and KMS, a comprehensive end-to-end security model was established. The result is an agile, highly automated foundation that accelerates innovation and combines Swiss quality standards with international scalability.
