A Multi-Account Strategy for Finma-Compliant Growth
Empowering an API-first and data-driven business model with AWS Control Tower and Managed Kubernetes.
simpego is a modern, digital-first insurance company that has evolved from a classic sales model to a mobile-centric, multi-channel approach. In the business-critical insurance market, IT systems must be fast, available 24/7, and strictly compliant with Finma regulations. To optimize their platform for rapid growth, simpego selected copebit through a competitive tender to build a stable, secure, and highly scalable AWS infrastructure.
copebit implemented an agile, interdisciplinary approach that prioritized security and data compliance. The solution centered on a Multi-Account Landing Zone architecture using AWS Control Tower, expanding from 3 to 10 accounts to ensure clear separation of stages and improved governance. The technical core utilizes Amazon EKS for container orchestration and Aurora Serverless V2 for auto-scaling database performance. By integrating OpenSearch and ElastiCache (Redis), the platform handles complex, data-driven insurance tasks with high efficiency.

The project also focused on solid interface management and network integration, resulting in significantly faster deployment times for new application releases. With improved monitoring and alerting via CloudWatch, simpego now enjoys 24/7 system stability and shorter response times for faults. Looking forward, the foundation is laid for migrating reporting tools and moving operations to the AWS Switzerland region to further simplify compliance. Today, simpego operates a high-security platform that scales effortlessly with its expanding customer base.
