What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a technically skilled AWS Cloud-Security Engineer with a strong background in cloud security and a passion for protecting cloud environments. In this position, you will support our AWS customer projects, ensuring that robust security measures are integrated throughout, while collaborating closely with our DevSecOps and cloud architecture teams to drive secure and successful outcomes.
You have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, with a particular focus on security, and a strong technical background that enables you to effectively safeguard our clients’ AWS environments. You excel in identifying and mitigating risks, implementing security best practices, and collaborating seamlessly with both technical teams and clients. Your ability to manage multiple security initiatives and projects simultaneously ensures that security is always a priority.
This role requires a hands-on approach and active participation in one or more Agile teams, with a strong technical focus on AWS Cloud Security.
In addition to your technical expertise, you are comfortable with both proactive and reactive security tasks, such as conducting security audits, responding to incidents, and delivering training sessions to clients and internal teams. We implement these solutions in customer projects using an agile team setup. Our team includes AWS Cloud Architects and DevSecOps experts, and we are seeking to strengthen our capabilities by adding an AWS Cloud-Security Engineer to our team.
Day to day:
- Security Engineering Focus: As an AWS Cloud-Security Engineer, your primary focus is on securing AWS cloud environments by implementing robust security measures across identity management, network security, and encryption. You actively work on configuring and maintaining IAM policies, VPC security, and encryption strategies to ensure the highest level of protection for our clients.
- Client Engagement and Security Consulting: You regularly engage with clients to understand their specific security needs and provide expert advice on implementing best practices in AWS Cloud Security. You conduct security assessments, recommend improvements, and work closely with client teams to tailor solutions that address their unique challenges.
- Technical Contribution and Automation: Leveraging your expertise in automation and CI/CD, you contribute to the development and implementation of security automation scripts using AWS Lambda, CloudFormation,Terraform and other tools. You help integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Client Coaching and Training: You actively coach and train clients on AWS Cloud Security best practices. This includes conducting workshops, providing training sessions on incident response, and helping clients navigate AWS security services to maximize their cloud security posture.
- Community Engagement: You engage with the broader AWS and security community by organizing and participating in security-focused Meetups and webinars. You share insights on AWS security trends, present case studies on security implementations, and build relationships that can foster new opportunities for collaboration.

- AWS Certifications: You possess AWS Associate-level certifications, reflecting a robust understanding of AWS cloud services. You hold relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, which demonstrate your deep understanding of AWS security services and best practices.
- Deep technical expertise in AWS Security: You have substantial experience in implementing Cloud Security Solutions based on the native AWS toolset. Here of particular importance are: CloudTrail, Config, Control Tower, GuardDuty, Inspector, SecurityHub, KMS, Network Firewalls, VPNs, CloudHSM, Encryption Services, Cognito, Identity Center and more..
- Independence and Adaptability: You excel in working independently and can swiftly adapt to changes within a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Automation and CI/CD Security: You have extensive experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, automating security checks using AWS Lambda, and ensuring continuous compliance through tools like AWS Config. You are proficient with SCM processes, CI/CD tools, and deployment management systems to maintain a secure development lifecycle with DevSecOps principles

Over the years we envision that you develop into a sales role handling cloud sales opportunities yourself. This role is a perfect segway for a technical person with sales flair to become a sales engineer and later on transition to a full account management position. You will work very closely with an experienced sales person and therefore get a lot of exposure to sales activities.
Day to day:
- Technical Sales Focus: As a Technical Sales Engineer, your primary focus is on the technical activities surrounding AWS, Automation, and DevSecOps disciplines, particularly in areas like containerization. You are responsible for conducting technical demos and showing Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
